Winning Combinations {Stars and…Polka dots!}

Light up the sky like the fourth of july

Soo.. I did another fourth of July collage. What can I say, I like red, white, and blue! Similar theme here than with the last one, one outfit for during the day at a picnic and one for the evening fireworks! The squares in the middle represent things you can use for BOTH outfits! And let’s be honest… who wouldn’t want to wear those shoes? SO adorably cute, right?

As for the “picnic” outfit, some people may say you can’t mix stripes and polka dots but it can work. First of all, the bag is an accessory, not something you’d have on your arm all day. Also, the polka dots are smaller so when you do have the bag on (and possibly the cardigan to break it up), the dots and stripes won’t be competing!  For the evening “fireworks” outfit, wanted to do something a bit more casual since, for me, this means walking around at night in Albany, debating which food truck to eat yummies from and having fun celebrating our country! And of course, cuddling up on a blanket to watch fireworks! This is also where I threw in a bit of FUN with the “stars and stripes” bracelet! Also the “star” earrings were not there unintentionally – obviously a nod to the “stars and stripes”! What are YOUR plans for the fourth of July? Beaching it? Picnic? Anyone have a boat I can hang out on? Ha!

Winning Combinations … {Fourth of July!}

Fourth of July

I totally forgot the fourth of July was like.. next week! Completely escaped my mind and I am so not prepared. I put together two cute, patriotic outfits, using red, white, and blue OF COURSE! The first one is more of a day time look for a picnic while the second is great for sitting on the grass watching the fireworks. Or in my case, most likely walking around Albany with thousands of people and yummy food trucks while watching the fireworks! I loooove the fourth of July, not only because it’s a day we should ALL be proud of but because it’s always a blast (no, that was not a pun for fireworks… maybe!)   It’s always such a celebration and let’s be honest, there’s usually a yummy BBQ too! What are your fourth of July plans? Any patriotic outfits planned?

Winning Combinations {Lazy Days!}

Lazy Days

This week, I don’t want to do anything, just be lazy! You know, one of those weeks. In spirit of it being one of those weeks, I put together two different looks, using the same pair of jeans, that are perfect to throw on when running out! Whether it’s to the bakery (to grab yummy sweets!!) or the wine store (of course.), both of these looks are cute and simple but still look put together! Basically, you can still be lazy and simple without wearing baggy sweatpants and an oversize tee! (I am not in college anymore, I must get over my love of sweatpants and leggings!) Again, I don’t REALLY have a favorite piece because I like so many things… if I didn’t I wouldn’t have chosen them! But, those leopard flats are super hot and that cardigan looks so cozy and cuddly! What do YOU think? What is your favorite? Check them ALL out below:

Winning Combinations {Colorful Blouses}

13 Jun

Today’s post is alllll about colorful blouses. Who doesn’t love color? Whether it’s a bright orange or perhaps a more subdued minty-green…Don’t forget to tell me your favorite piece in the comments!

Orange Blouse Fashion

Ohh – I love all of the bright and happy colors in this look! Those Jessica Simpson flats and the Fossil clutch are just…awesome?! I like how even if you don’t love bringing color into your wardrobe, with pieces like those you can bring it in with accessories that are still fun and fashionable. The clutch and Yesstyle handbag are also great because they are colorful yet not overpowering – a great way to add those colors you love without looking like a rainbow threw up on you. Yuck!

Green Blouse Fashion

Isn’t this shirt a great color? Not a vibrant green but a nice more subdued semi minty color. Yup. That’s my description. Like it? For this outfit, I let the colors in the outfit speak more for themselves with more neutral accessories. Between the dark navy of the bottoms and the green in the top, I didn’t want to go overboard with the colors so I added the cream, brown, and gold accessories. I really love the bag in this outfit! It can be my new “big girl” bag for my big girl job..that I don’t have yet!

Blue Black and Yellow Day

Hello friends! How do you feel about blue, yellow, and black? I feel like it could so work but could so fail. I actually first started this collection with the “night” outfit and decided I really liked the color scheme so made a “day” one too! If you saw last weeks post, you know I am a fan of sunglasses that shape so I grabbed another pair that works with this outfit! Whatchya think? The dress is also a great summer dress – made of cotton with a cute black bow belt to accentuate the waist!

Blue Black Yellow Night

For the night outfit, I really wanted to pull together some pieces that would be fun for a night out with the girls or evennnn date night!  The clutch and the ring bring all the colors in the outfit together – the blue, black, and yellow! The first piece I saw was actually the super cool tri-color triple ring – so fabulous! The shoes are also pretty hot hot hot. The sexy cut-outs and cool platform make this a va-va-va vooom shoe! Don’t you think?!

Winning Combinations {A little nautical}

30 May

Today’s a little bit nauticallll! I know the whole stripe and “sailor” look can be REALLY overdone but you can still achieve that look without looking like you accidentally mistook the beginning of June for Halloween..

Dressed Down Nautical

Now I love the “dressed down” look shown above. I know horizontal stripes can be a bit… unforgiving but I love that sweater! And those sunglasses are SO cool looking, the shape and the color. This look makes me want to go to Lake George (or somewhere like it, a small, cool town on a lake!) and take out a boat and then walk along the streets at night and get ice cream.. Yup.. Sounds niiiice.

Dressed Up Nautical

For our dressed up look, it gets a little more playful – with the ruffles on the shirt and the cute bow flats. I love the bright punch of “lollipop” color for the nails that go with the star ring. Hey, I could wear this to get ice cream too but it’s a little more dressed up and playful than the dressed down look.

Although I love both looks (obviously, I created them – I must love them!) I have to say… if i had to choose a favorite one that I could take and put in my closet right now… I couldn’t decide. Haha. I love multiple pieces from both! I’ll just take it all please and thank you! What’s your favorite look!? Or are you indecisive like myself? Any fun summer plans?
